Are you interested in politics, campaigning or making a difference in your local community?
Join Stuart Andrew MP and the local campaign team for three days of practical experience, new skills and an insight into how politics works at a local level.
The Summer Campaign Academy is designed for young people from secondary school age up to 30. You do not need any previous political or campaigning experience to take part.
10th, 11th & 12th August 2026
10:00 am - 2:30 pm
Based at Daventry iCon, with activities across the constituency
Places are free but limited.
What will the academy involve?
The programme will combine an introduction to local politics with practical campaigning experience.
You will have the opportunity to:
- Meet Stuart Andrew MP, local councillors and members of the campaign team
- Learn more about the role of an MP and local councillors
- Understand how local political campaigns are planned and organised
- Take part in doorstep surveys and conversations with residents
- Help with leaflet delivery and community engagement
- Learn how campaign information and local feedback are recorded
- Build communication, teamwork and organisational skills
- Meet other young people with an interest in politics
No previous experience is necessary. Full guidance and support will be provided throughout the academy.
Who can take part?
The academy is open to:
- Secondary school students
- Sixth-form and college students
- University students
- Young professionals
- Anyone aged up to 30 with an interest in politics or campaigning
You do not need to be a member of the Conservative Party.
However, participants should understand that this is a political campaigning programme organised by the Daventry Constituency Conservative Association and that some activities will involve campaigning on behalf of local Conservative representatives.
There is no obligation to become a member or continue volunteering after the academy.
Do I need to attend every day?
We would be pleased to welcome participants for all three days, but we understand that this may not be possible.

What should I bring?
Please wear comfortable clothing and suitable footwear, as some activities will take place outdoors and may involve walking.
Participants should bring:
- A packed lunch
- A refillable drink
- A waterproof coat or sun protection, depending on the weather
- Any medication or personal items they may require
We may occasionally stop at a local café or pub during the lunch break, but participants should still bring their own lunch.

What happens next?
Submitting the form does not automatically confirm a place.
The campaign team will review registrations and contact applicants with further information. Applicants under 18 will only be confirmed once the necessary parental or guardian permission has been received.
Places are limited, so early registration is recommended.
