The Member of Parliament for the Daventry constituency is currently Tim Boswell. Tim was first elected to represent Daventry in 1987. Since then he has worked tirelessly to serve the interests of the people of Daventry. Tim’s Westminster career began as a Member of the Agriculture Select Committee. Tim entered John Major's government in 1990 as an Assistant Government Whip, then following the 1992 General Election he was promoted within the Whip's Office and became a Lord Commissioner to the Treasury. In opposition Tim has been a spokesman on the Treasury, Trade and Industry, Education and Employment, Work and Pensions, and Constitutional Affairs. In 2006 Tim annouced his wish to retire at the next General Election.

The Daventry seat is due to be split in two at the next general election, with the northern part becoming part of a new Daventry constituency and the southern part becoming part of the South Northamptonshire constituency (for more information about the South Northamptonshire constituency visit www.southnorthantsconservatives.com). The Daventry Constituency will also gain parts of Kettering, Wellingborough and Northampton South.
In June 2006 Chris Heaton-Harris, former East Midland’s Conservative MEP, was selected as the Prospective Parliamentary Candidate for the new Daventry constituency. During his time as an MEP Chris was instrumental in bringing to public attention the fraud, mismanagement and waste within the European Commission and other European Institutions. Chris, together with his wife and two children, live in the village of Pitsford within the new constituency of Daventry. When he is not campaigning Chris enjoys nothing more that referring local football games in his capacity as a fully qualified referee!
Since Chris was selected as the Parliamentary Candidate for Daventry he has made a great effort to get around and visit as much of the constituency as possible. In doing so Chris has been able to get involved within the community and has also helped a large number of local campaigns, charities and causes over the last couple of years.
