The UK Government has postponed the May 2020 elections due to COVID-19.

Are you interested in becoming a Conservative Councillor?

Councillors are the voice of the local community, represent local views and interests and have a duty to promote the social and economic well-being of the community. If this could be you, take a look at the information below and get in touch!

Could you be a Councillor?

  1. Do you QUALIFY to stand for the Council?

Do you live, own or rent property or work in the new West Northants Unitary Authority Area? West Northants Unitary Councl is highly likely to include all the geographical areas currently belonging to South Northants, Daventry and Northampton Borough Councils. You can live, work, own or rent property anywhere within this area to qualify to stand for any of the seats within it, you do not need to live/work in the particular Ward/Division you are interested in standing in. It is also preferable, but not essential, that you are a paid up Conservative Member and even better if you have experience as an activist.

  1. Do you WANT to stand as a local Councillor?

Being a local Councillor is a big responsibility, to find out more about what is involved in being a Councillor check out the documents we have attached below which explain the standard and commitment expected of you. You can also find out more at https://beacouncillor.co.uk/.  Equally, if you would like to speak to a sitting Councillor about the role then please email us your details and we can arrange for someone to call you for a casual chat. We are also planning to organise some ‘Find out More’ meetings in 2019, so if this is something you are interested in then let us know!

To find out more contact Amy Howard DCCA: agent@wnc.uk.com.

If you are ready to apply, complete the application form attached below and return it to our Administrator, Amy Howard via email or post to Daventry Conservative Association, Bishop Crewe House, North Street, Daventry NN11 4GH
